By purchasing a ticket or participating in an event, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
Terms & Conditions
- Ticket Sales & Transfers
All tickets are final sale and non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, your ticket may be transferred to another guest prior to the event start time. To request a transfer, please email: hello@sugarthumbstudio.com.- No-shows are non-transferable and non-creditable.
- Event Cancellation by Sugar Thumb Studio
If an event is cancelled by Sugar Thumb Studio, you’ll receive a credit for the full value of your ticket to use toward a future event or experience.
Please note: credits are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
- Age Requirements
Public events may be open to all ages or designated age-specific events.- Age categories will be clearly stated in the event description.
- Certain events are 19+ where alcohol is served.
- Valid government-issued ID is required for 19+ events.
- Alcohol Policy
For events involving alcohol:- Alcohol may be provided by a separate licensed vendor; OR
- Private event hosts are responsible for obtaining proper permits where applicable.
Sugar Thumb Studio must be contacted at least three (3) weeks in advance regarding any alcohol arrangements.
Sugar Thumb Studio is not liable for alcohol-related incidents. - Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver
Participation in cake decorating activities involves inherent risks including but not limited to:
- Use of decorating tools and equipment
- Food handling
- Slips, trips, and minor injuries
By attending an event, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation.
Sugar Thumb Studio shall not be held liable for:
- Personal injury
- Allergic reactions
- Lost or damaged property
- Indirect or incidental damages
Guests participate at their own risk.
- Food Allergy & Cross-Contamination Notice
Sugar Thumb Studio is not an allergen-free kitchen. Our space regularly handles common allergens, including but not limited to:- Wheat
- Dairy
- Eggs
- Soy
- Peanuts
- Tree nuts
Cross-contamination is possible.
By purchasing a ticket, you acknowledge and accept this risk.
Guests with severe allergies attend at their own discretion and assume full responsibility for related health risks.

By attending an event, you grant Sugar Thumb Studio permission to photograph and use event images for marketing and promotional purposes unless written notice is provided prior to the event. - Behaviour Policy
Sugar Thumb Studio reserves the right to remove any guest displaying unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate behaviour. No refund or credit will be issued in such cases. - Payment Processing
Payments are securely processed through Stripe. Sugar Thumb Studio does not store full credit card information. - Privacy Policy
Sugar Thumb Studio collects personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. We collect information including:- Name
- Email address
- Billing details
- Event registration information
Information is used to:
- Process registrations
- Communicate event details
- Improve services

Custom Cake Terms & Conditions
- Order Confirmation & Payment
- A 50% non-refundable retainer is required to secure your order and date.
- Invoices must be paid within 48 hours of being issued.
- Orders are not confirmed until the retainer has been received. If payment is not received within this timeframe, the order request may be cancelled and the date released without notice.
- The remaining balance is due 7 days before pickup/event date or upon invoice instructions.
- Orders placed without full payment by the due date may be cancelled without refund of deposit.
- Design & Communication
- Final design details must be confirmed at least 7 days before the event date. Changes are not guaranteed.
- Any major design changes after confirmation may result in additional charges.
- Custom cakes are designed based on inspiration images and discussion — exact replicas are not guaranteed unless explicitly agreed upon.
- Cancellations & Refunds
- Deposits are non-refundable.
- Cancellations made at least 14 days before the event may receive credit toward a future order at the discretion of the studio.
- Cancellations within 14 days of the event are non-refundable.
- If Sugar Thumb Studio must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund or credit will be issued.
- Pick-Up & Delivery
- Clients are responsible for safe transportation once the cake leaves the studio (unless delivery is arranged).
- Sugar Thumb Studio is not responsible for damage after pickup.
- Delivery fees apply if delivery service is requested.
- Storage & Handling
- Cakes must be refrigerated unless otherwise instructed.
- Follow provided storage and serving instructions for best quality.
- We are not responsible for damage resulting from improper handling or storage.
- Allergies & Ingredients
- Our kitchen is not allergen-free and cross-contamination may occur.
- Clients must disclose any severe allergies before ordering.
- While we take precautions, we cannot guarantee allergen-free production.
- Edible Decorations & External Items
- Cake toppers, florals, or decorations provided by clients must be delivered in advance for proper placement.
- Sugar decorations are fragile and may shift during transport.
- Image Consent
Sugar Thumb Studio reserves the right to photograph custom cakes for marketing, website, and social media use unless otherwise requested in writing.
