Sugar Thumb Studio is a creative cake decorating studio where guests can learn, celebrate, and create beautifully decorated treats through workshops, private parties, and custom cake experiences.

Sugar Thumb Studio is currently operating through thoughfully chosen community spaces.  We’re proud to partner with Lumen House in London, Ontario while we grow.  Event locations will always be shared in the event listings.

Yes! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels — no baking or decorating experience is needed.

Workshops typically include all decorating tools, aprons, cake or cupcakes, icing, sprinkles, and step-by-step instruction. Guests take home their finished creations.

Most workshops run 2.5-3 hours depending on the theme and project.

Nope — just bring yourself and your creativity! Everything is provided.

Yes — some workshops are family-friendly while others are adult-only. Age guidelines are listed in each event description.

Sugar Thumb Studio experiences are designed to feel personal and thoughtfully guided.  Our standard capacity is up to 14 guests, ensuring hands-on instructions and attention.  In certain cases, we may accomodate additional guests for simplified decorating experiences.

A dedicated instructor, decorating project, tools and supplies, studio time, and cleanup. Optional add-ons are available (themes, décor, treats, gift bags, etc.).

Absolutely! Sugar Thumb Studio travels to you. Simply provide the space and seating, and we’ll transform it into a cake decorating experience your guests will love. We take care of everything — setup, instruction, supplies, and cleanup — so you can focus on celebrating.

Yes — we create custom cakes and themed designs for birthdays, weddings, and celebrations. Visit our Custom Cakes Page for more info and the ordering form.

We recommend 2–3 months’ notice (or earlier for busy seasons). Rush orders may be available for an additional fee.

Yes — a non-refundable retainer is required to confirm bookings or custom cake orders. Orders are not secured until payment is received.

Tasting boxes or consultation appointments may be available for specialty or multi-tier cakes.

Some accommodations may be available upon request; however, we are not an allergen-free kitchen, and trace cross-contact may occur.

Once you have paid for a ticket, we are unable to give a refund. You can, however, receive a credit note or transfer to another event if you cancel up to 14 days before event.

Event tickets are non-refundable, but may be transferable to another date when available.

Private events require notice at least 21 days. Private event retainers are non-refundable.

Custom cake retainers are non-refundable.

Sugar Thumb Studio reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events due to unforeseen circumstances.  In the event of a studio-led cancellation, guests will be offered a credit or transfer.

Photos are welcome, but video recording is not permitted during classes, workshops, or private events. This helps protect the learning experience and the privacy of other guests.

Yes — Sugar Thumb Studio may capture photos and short video clips during workshops and events for marketing and branding purposes, including use on our website and social media.

We completely respect your preference. Please let us know before your session begins, and we’ll make sure you are not included in any photos or video content.
